I am so excited they now serve great Beers & Wine!
GO LEO’S. You guys are the best.
Taking my dad here for Father’s Day!!
Greek salad, lemon rice soup and cheese fries…..all amazing!!!
AMAZING! I felt like I was home again!
I had the best greek Salad of my life at Leo’s. I can’t wait to go back
All of my friends have enjoyed eating at Leo’s.
The best chocolate brownie hot fudge sundae I ever had.
The Greek Salad is great.
Thanks for coming to our neighborhood!!
I’m so happy since moving to Chicago 10 years ago that the best hot dog in the USA made it to this windy city. I got my wife & kids hooked on it who though I was nuts before. My wife even bought 3 bottles of their famous greek dressing to take home. I took my Chicago friends here & they loved it. Now if I could only get a Faygo Red Pop with my dog, that would be heaven.
CHEESE FRIES!!!
I was so excited to see Leo’s when I was in Chicago for St. Patty’s. What a great way to start a fun weekend. Thanks, Jeremy…PS – can you send some cheese fries to Cali?????
Great to see a Leo’s in Chicago–Finally! The restaurant should think about adding “bosco sticks” to the menu. They offer them at National Coney Island chains and I’ve always thought Leo’s menu was SO much better, but just missing something without them…will be visting over and over!
Cant wait for tomorrow, getting there when you open and i’m still getting a coney and some chili cheese fries. Just had the same thing last weekend when I was in the D for the autorama, But it sure will be nice to have it here in Chicago. Miss the 24 hour local in Taylor (tuckey).
Went here last Saturday and wow, it was awesome to have a coney dog again without the trip home to Detroit. Place was packed with a 30 minute wait, but kudos to Leo’s for handing out samples of coney dogs, soup, etc. while we waited. The food was great, just like I remember and miss so much. I’ll be back again and again. Thanks Leo’s!
I ate lunch at the counter of Leo’s on Big Beaver in Troy, MI for years – the best Greek salad served with a hot piece of pita.
I am so happy that Leo’s has decided to come to Chicago. I moved here from just north of Detroit about 4 years ago. I have to make a trip back every two to three months to see friends and I always have to get me some Detroit coney dogs with chili cheese fries. Finally there is a place that can show these Chicagoians how a hot dog should really be served. Thank you Leo’s!!!!
By far the BEST Greek Salad and Chili in town!
First of all, you guys need to open earlier – 7ish. And if ya need to open at 9, than it should be @ 9. No notes on the door saying 10. Sick of driving across town to saitsfy my wife, transplanted Bloomfield Hills person, to always find annoying notes on your door.
any posibility you will be in he sububs like Stramwood o Elgin soon?
went there today came from fox lake, have not had a real coney in years, let alone just a good hot dog, had a great time all smiles wife daughter and me….. you guys are a smash hit, home run, three pointer, slam dunk,…. see ya agian soon the giffords
Everything in my life is better now that I can get chili fries! Went here the other day, it was packed, but service was still fast and food was AMAZING.
Coney Dogs and Fries, Ah a little Slice of Heaven!
AMAZING!
Awesome. Diet Vernor’s to boot!
It’s like there is a home for everyone from the D here in Chicago now! After 13 months of missing Detroit and having the windy city blues…. the city moves a little closer to Pure Michigan. Thank you Leo’s Coney Island! GOD BLESS YOU!
Chicago Native
Married to Detroiter Wife
Greek Salad with Beets!
Thank you! Just visited today for a much needed chicken finger pita. I feel a little less homesick.
Came in this weekend for a little taste of home (Detroit) and wasn’t disappointed! Had 2 Coney’s with cheese. Awesome!!
I just ate here today and cannot believe how good it was! After spending a lot of time in Detroit and always craving the way they do their dogs up their, THIS was a GREAT feast! Can’t wait for Cubs season to get going, because this place will be my new stop!
I can’t wait to get there! I spent a lot of my youth at Farmington Souvlaki
So many Detroiters are here to enjoy this!
after years of bringing the bottled dressing back from detroit and trying to recreate a coney greek at home (impossible), it felt great to eat a real one! and the chili…don’t even get me started. welcome to chi-town, leo’s!!!
Dragged 3 co-workers from our suburban office yesterday, mouth’s a’waterin. The joint was packed and we couldn’t even score a whiff. In fact, all the surrounding. plan B, places were caught off guard by Leo’s overflow. Will try a solo mission today.
Great time on opening day!
This will be such a success! I hope it comes to the suburbs of Chicago too!
I can’t believe Leo’s is coming to Chicago! Now I don’t have to drive 5 hours to get great authentic Greek food! Good Luck!!!
Went there on Sunday. Great food, great variety, and great prices. The owner came over and personally thanked us for coming in. Impressive!
Just found out that the REAL hot dog has come to Chicago!!!
Can’t wait to have one.
I grew up in Royal Oak and miss coneys very much.
It’s like Christmas and every other holiday rolled into one!
Have been waiting for this for two years, when Leo told me he thought they were going to Highland Park to take on Michael’s. Anytime I miss home — after 35 years — all I have to do is go to Southport! I love you, Leo! Thanks!!!!
Thank you for making life just a little better in the Chi. Congrats on the opening! My Greek salad, Leo’s light dressing, pita and lemon rice soup have never tasted better. Made me feel like I was back home. Can’t wait for my next trip. You’re on my speed dial…xoxo
It was all I hoped it would be. I went off my diet just so I could have a coney dog, a loose hamburger, and a Sanders Hot Fudge Sundae. Oh well, the extra day of work out is worth it. It was packed today and judging by all the comments about how long we have been waiting for you here in Chicago, It looks like you have a hit on your hands. I mean when does Channel 2 news send someone out to cover a hotdog place opening? Only for Leo’s!
Detroit Coney Island dogs & Vernors (I didn’t see Vernors Floats on the menu, but if you cvan make a float with root beer, I’m sure that you’re up to the task of concocting a Vernors float)! Finally, culinary excellence coming to Chicago and Guy Fieri on “Triple D” won’t have to drive his hot Camero into Detroit.
I am sooo excited I can now get a REAL coney not make one at home myself and it is never as good! You guys need to expand to the Western Suburbs as well but until then I will be stopping by!
I can’t tell you how happy this makes me. I always get a coney when I’m back in The D. Any real Detroiter knows and loves these things, and there are a ton of us down here. I think this is going to rake in the cash and bring a big smile to the face of many Michigan ex-pats.
2/15 @ 6:15 AM. On my way to the gym to run 5 miles and earn in advance, my long awaited 3 on 1.
It felt soooo good to FINALLY have GREEK the way it should be done! After growing up in Michigan and hitten’ up Leo’s at 12 mile my whole life, it was awesome to get some Leo’s in my backyard! I have been in Chicago now for 8 years and we always hoped one day it would arrive…watch out Chicago, D-TOWN has got it down when it comes to Greek!

CANT WAIT TO HAVE YOU GUYS DO A PRIVATE PARTY FOR ME!!! DOGS AROUND THE HOUSE! – WELCOME TO CHICAGO LEO’S!!!!!
It’s like Christmas for all of us former Detroiter’s!!!
I get to Chicago often from the Detroit area and will be sure to visit before and after every Cubbies game I attend!
Awesome! Bramedonas1
Finally, I don’t have to wait until I go back to Michigan for a real Coney Island dog. It’s a long time coming.
I am so incredibly excited for the grand opening Monday—I am a Royal Oak native and spent many an after-bar chow fest at Leo’s. I just read the history and sincerely hope that you do expand throughout the Chicago-land area, so I don’t have to drive down to the city for every craving I have. Northwest suburbs would be fantastic! I’ll even come work for ya! (I was a cook for 8 years before my daughter was born)
This is about as good as it gets here in Chicago…. coney island chili is the one staple food missing from my diet here. Welcome!!!
My wife was ready to drive to the city today from the western suburbs just to have a Greek salad and lemon soup. Needless to say after moving from Birmingham, MI Leo’s was one of the things we missed most. Welcome to Chicago!
It’s about time! Now I can stop having coney sauce shipped in from the D. Can’t wait!
Don’t forget that all of that goodness starts with a frankfurter made by the Koegel family in Flint, Michigan. Their coney dogs and Viennas are world class!! Serve the Curve, baby!!!!
Leo’s Coney Island of Chicago is AMAZING!!! GREAT FOOD, GREAT SERVICE, GREAT ATMOSPHERE, GREAT PRICES!!! Just like Detroit but better!!! Congrats Guys!!!
Thank God there will be a Leo’s in Chicago. When I lived in Michigan I went to the Leo’s on Maple and Telegraph at least once a week. I’m going through chicken finger pita withdrawl! I can’t wait for the 15th!
OMG OMG OMG!!! Coney Island I welcome you with open arms! I moved to Chicago almost 5 years and I miss Coney Island the most! Now all we need is for you to open a 24 hour location!
It’s about time there is a leo’s coney island in Chicago.I love coney island very much!!!!!!!!!
It’s about time one of these opened here in chi town.
Grew up in Detroit – been eating well done chili dogs with everything since I was in utero.
Can’t wait to try Leo’s in Chicago!
I challenge anyone out there to a coney eating contest. Nobody can beat the stomach!
2 on 1, heavy onions. I’ve been waiting 30 years to say those words in Chicago!
I keep hearing all these great things about this place. Eating is my favorite thing in the world. Can’t wait to have a Greek salad with a side of Coney Hotdog!
Coney Combo with chili on the fries. Greek salad with Feta and beets. A loose hamburger and a Diet Vernors. That is my order on 2/15. Tuesday I am planning on a chicken fingers pita and an order of chili fries. Wednesday Morning an egg white omelette with spinach and feta…
This is the best news in Chicago for Detroiters since Michael Jordan retired….
Finally! Open…open…open!!! I was born and raised on the Northwest side of the D and coneys ain’t nothing nice. It’s like soul food…. in a class by itself. I never go to Detroit without eating my coney and fries…..NEVER . Next stop, Aurora, but until then, I’ll see you on the 15th!!!! Smooches
I’ve been waiting for those doors to open for months. Hopefully I can catch some Detroit sports on the tube while enjoying the worlds finest Coney Doggs.
Table for 3.. We will be there at 8 for the opening and are
preparing to stay for lunch and dinner. My 12 year wait is
over!! Can you say house account? Bring on the Greek salads!!
Feb 15? Sounds like the perfect spot for a belated Valentines Day dinner. I can’t wait to gaze lovingly at a Greek Salad…
Offer the City of Chicago Building officials lifetime Coney’s and let’s get this show on the road.
is it that hard to get a pita permit in this town?
May I have a Large Greek Salad, and a Spinach Pie. Grew up in Birmingham…so as a Leo’s veteran…may I say, thank you!
Open soon. You think the 1984 Riot in Detroit after the Tigers won the World Series was big. Wait till you see the riot on Southport if we don’t get our fix pretty soon.
Can’t wait for the Coneys! It’s the one thing Chicago’s missing!
Oh man, I am so excited for a taste of home. When I visit my dad in West Bloomfield we always go to Leo’s for breakfast, but I always order coneys! My wife rolls her eyes, but I just don’t care!
I live 4 El stops away. You will see a lot of me!
Will work for food!!! As long as its Leo’s Coneys!!!
I’ll have 2 up, heavy chili, light onion, fries and a vernor’s.
I dream of Greek salads
Uh, can you open already?
I cannot wait for my loose dog !!
In honor of my grandfather I will be ordering a “Loose” with everything at the grand opening!
Since moving to Chicago from D-Town…I have had a small piece of my heart empty from the lack of Coney Dogs anywhere in this huge city. I was just as psyched about the Coney stand in Wrigley last year as I was for the RedWings victory. You guys have answered my prayers and the fact that I live less than 5 blocks means you will have a valued customer for years to come! THANK YOU!!!!
There is nothing I love more than your twister fries! I grew up in michigan eating at leos once a week but I now live in chicago. Needless to say, this is my dream!!!
Counting down the days. I want my salad!!!
I can’t wait for your tzatziki!!! Please have good ranch! Eagerly awaiting your Grand Opening!
I lived in Detroit Metro for 15 years, then returned to live eventually in Brighton, Ontario Canada. My daughter used to bring 6 bottles of your dressing when she visited. LOVE YOUR FOOD. Daughter now lives in Chicago. Glad I’ll be getting more dressing in future. Canadian franchise for Brighton planned?
I have been so desperate for a good old fashion Detroit coney that I have had them sent here frozen. Now I can just drive a couple of miles and have a Leo’s, a Boston cooler or a Sanders Hot Fudge Sundae. Those of us from Detroit know what we are in for but boy, Chicagoans are in for a treat like none other. Welcome, we need you!
This is great news! Can’t wait for the goodness. Chicago, get ready for another handful of Detroit pride.
I will be driving down from Milwaukee Wisconsin! You’ve have answered our prayers. Bring Bashar to open this one!
Lou, you’re killing me! I’m tired of having all my friends and relatives send me care packages from Detroit to get my fix. Any chance you know when “The Big Day” will finally be here?
I had to buy a bottle of your salad dressing to bring back to Chicago when I was in Detroit a few weeks ago!!!
miss coney’s more than anything back in michigan! it’s ridiculous… can’t wait to finally have one here in chicago! when can we expect this greatness???
OMG I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS FOR A DECADE!!!!!!!!
I was born in Detroit and Leo’s is my FAVORITE!! I used to live in Chicago, but now I’m in South Florida! Open one down here, it would do AMAZING! I’m so jealous!!!
Can’t wait for Leo’s to get here! It will be my favoritie new lunch spot – I’ll be living off the Lemon Rice Soup and Greek Salad!
Congrats guys! So excited for the Leo’s franchise to hit Chicago, but the anticipation is killing me. I can’t wait to grub some of Leo’s legendary cuisine. Seriously, the buzz is amazing! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard people talking abou…t it. It’s incredible! P.S. – Is it weird that I’m excited for the Mickey Mouse pancakes?
I’m very excited about this! I used to be a waitress at Leo’s at Telegraph and Maple!! Ahhhh, memories… Lou, let me know if you need help with anything.
My husband is from Farmington Hills, MI. He has always said there should be a Leo’s here! We would be so happy to support it! Good Luck guys!
I can’t wait for Leo’s to come to Chicago! It was a staple of my diet when I lived in Michigan and I can’t wait to have a grilled cheese pita there once it opens!
This will be such a success. This will be the place to be choose your favorite time, morning, noon, or evening. Can’t wait.
